Privacy Policy

Effective Date — June 11, 2025

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: your email address and confirmation token.
  • Message Content: the body of emails, attachments, and headers sent to us.
  • Calendar Data: events extracted from your emails.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser or email-client metadata, error logs, and device information captured through server logs or Google reCAPTCHA.
  • Cookies: a secure session cookie to keep you signed in on the web dashboard.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Create, authenticate, and manage your account.
  • Parse emails and build calendar events you can view or export.
  • Send transactional emails (confirmation, magic-link sign-in, service notices).
  • Detect spam or abuse using Google reCAPTCHA and internal heuristics.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve Service performance and reliability.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your information with your consent (when you confirm your email), to perform our contract with you (provide calendar services), and as necessary for our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, Service improvement).

4. Sharing & Disclosure

  • We use Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage and SendGrid/AWS SES for email delivery.
  • We share data with third parties only (a) to operate the Service, (b) when required by law, or (c) to defend our rights.
  • We never sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored in the United States on AWS infrastructure, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • We implement least-privilege IAM roles, network isolation, and regular security audits.
  • No method of transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain email messages for up to 30 days after parsing, then delete them permanently. Calendar data persists until you delete your account or request removal.

7. Your Rights & Choices

  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing help@kidrouter.com.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails while still receiving critical account communications.
  • If you reside in a region with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you have additional rights which we honor.

8. Cookies & Tracking

We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics cookies or behavioral advertising trackers.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We use standard contractual measures to protect data transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on our site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
